Kalady celebrates Sankara Jayanti

Various religious, academic and cultural programmes were held as part of the Sree Sankara Jayanti celebrations at Kalady near here on Thursday.

Several sages and devotees participated in the ‘parikarma’ organised by Adishankara Janmadesha Vikasana Samithi on the occasion of Sree Sankara Jayanti. It passed through Kalady town before concluding at Muthalakadavu. A meeting of sages was held at Adishankara Keerthisthamba Mandapam at Kalady in the morning.

Special pujas were held at the Adishankara Janmabhumi Temple from 8.30 a.m. onwards. Hundreds participated in Adishankara Vijayaratha Yatra held in Kalady. A meeting of experts and academicians was also held as part of the celebrations.
