Jose K. Mani M.P. on Wednesday informed his decision to allocate Rs. 40 lakh from his MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development) fund towards the development of the KSRTC Bus station at Ettumanoor.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Mani also pointed out that the bus station, which currently is situated on the land that is owned by the Ettumanoor panchayat, faced various obstacles during development and improve basic amenities for commuters. As a result of a petition, the copies of which were forwarded to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Finance Minister K.M. Mani and Registration Minister T.M. Jacob, it has been decided to transfer the ownership rights of the land to the KSRTC and also reduce the expenses like stamp duty and registration charges that could occur during the agreement.

The aforementioned developments are bound to alleviate the troubles faced by the passengers who avail the facilities of the bus station.
