ISIT gets custody of Bangalore blasts accused

The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on Tuesday granted custody of P.A. Raisal, 2008 Bangalore blasts accused, to the Internal Security Investigation Team (ISIT).

The custody period will end on October 6. The ISIT took the accused to Kuruppumpady to collect evidence in the case. Raisal was allegedly part of a five-member team which stole explosives from a shop at Kuruppumpady in 2008.

The explosives were allegedly used to make improvised explosive devices used in the blasts in Bangalore.

The ISIT arrested him from the Karipur airport on Saturday evening when he arrived from Qatar.

ISIT officers said he was hiding in Qatar since 2009. Raisal is an accused in the an attempt to murder case.
