Government and private hospitals will conduct an intensive measles-rubella campaign on November 4 and 5. This was decided at the review meeting chaired by District Collector Mohammed Y. Safirullah here on Tuesday.
Many parents would find it convenient to take their children for vaccinations over the weekend, hence the decision.
It was also decided that with help from workers of ASHA, anganwadis, and Kudumbasree, house visits would be carried out in places where vaccinations have been low.
On Thursday, the District Deputy Director (Education) will hold a review meeting with the Principals of all government, aided, unaided, and CBSE schools to intensify the MR vaccination campaign.

All the people’s representatives, religious and social leaders should also be part of the house visits scheduled in the first week of November to create awareness on the vaccine, he said.
