Harvest fete observed

Residents of Edappally, under the aegis of the Coordination Committee of Residents’ Associations, welcomed the Malayalam New Year with a harvest of a field of bananas and vegetables cultivated under the Agricultural Scheme through residents’ associations.

General convener of the Coordination Committee, P. R. Padmanabhan Nair, said the harvest festival on Friday gave him a great sense of satisfaction as the residents’ associations were able to set a novel example to those residing within the city area. Residents of both Changampuzha Park area and Edappally were part of the celebrations.

The agricultural project, initiated by the residents themselves, has yielded good results.

Benny Behnan, MLA, inaugurated the harvest festival. , Councillors Pius Joseph and V. N. Sarojini; secretary of the Changampuzha Central Residents Association V. P. Gopalakrishnan Nair; were among those present at the occasion.
