Gyanvani broadcast from tomorrow

Kochi Gyanvani, an educational FM channel, will start its broadcast on Thursday.

C.P. Rajasekharan, station manager, Gyan Vani Educational FM, said in a release that it is an initiative of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). A studio will be set up in Thiruvananthapuram in the future, he said.

Some of the programmes to be aired include ‘Snehapoorvam' – educational counselling, ‘Vidyabhyasa vartha' – educational news, and ‘Oru desam, oru Keralam', a programme that maps the history and relevance of each region in the State.

A special musical feature on the occasion of Vishu will also be broadcast on April 15. The relevance of the festival will be highlighted through the programme.

Mr. Rajasekharan said that the Gyanvani will broadcast educational programmes, with a wider scope of entertainment.

He said that the channel will benefit the student-teacher community in a big way.
