A godown, belonging to parcel company Kerala Roadways in Thrissur was gutted early Sunday morning.

A fireman P. B. Suni was injured while trying to put out the fire which raged for about four hours.

The godown stocked readymade garments, chemicals and medicines. This made control of the fire difficult. A dozen fire tenders had to work until dawn to control the fire which started around 2 am.

Initial estimates indicate a loss of around Rs. 5 crore, fire force sources said.
