The first screening of Theruvu Nakshathrangal, a film on abandoned children directed by Jose Mavely, chairman of Janaseva Shishu Bhavan, Aluva, was held here on Sunday.

A large number of people from different walks of life attended the screening, with the audience filling a large convention centre of a city hotel much ahead of the screening that started after 10 a. m. Singer Yesudas, who plays a prominent role in Theruvu Nakshathrangal was present among the audience along with other actors like Captain Raju and Jose Thettayil, MLA. Minister for Excise and Ports K. Babu, who released the audio CD of the movie, praised the initiative taken by Janaseva Shishu Bhavan to rescue and shelter children, who have no family support and are out on the streets.
