Film exhibitors withdraw strike

May 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - KOCHI:

The Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation, a combine of ‘A’ class cinemas, has withdrawn its strike announced from May 2 onwards after the government postponed the implementation of the e-ticketing system to July 1.

The federation had earlier opposed the decision to implement the system from May 2 alleging that it was taken in haste. Federation president P.V. Basheer Ahamed, in a statement on Saturday, welcomed the government decision. “We also tender an apology for making certain allegations against Minister for Social Welfare M.K. Muneer in connection with the e-ticketing issue,” he said.
