FACT sets record in production

The Udyogamandal complex of Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) has set a record in production of ammonium sulphate and sulphuric acid during the month of October. According to a statement from the public sector company here, the Udyogamandal unit produced 22,174 tonnes of ammonium sulphate in October. This is the highest production volume since the unit was established. The unit had produced 22,134 tonnes of ammonium sulphate tonnes in November 2013. The FACT statement said that the average daily production of ammonium sulphate is 715 tonnes, which is around 106% of the installed capacity.

Sulphuric acid production at the unit too saw a record last month. The production of 26,800 tonnes breaks the previous record of 26,522 tonnes set in August 2017.
