The lack of amenities at the Ernakulam Junction Railway station is part of the lore. The absence of an electronic signboard indicating the arrival/departure of the next train, platform number is causing lot of difficulties to commuters. Recently, on a trip to Calicut, I saw electronic displays at Thrissur, Shoranur and Kozhikode railway stations. The railway authorities should set up electronic display systems at the east and main entrance platforms of the South Railway Station. The Ernakulam Town station also should also have one. The lack of enough chairs and the absence of drinking water at the eastern entry platform should also be addressed.

I live in Eroor, at a stretch from S.N. Juction near Tripunithura. S.N. Juction to Palarivattom via Eroor is a very busy road as most people from south and east of Tripunithura use this road to cross Palarivattom. This road is not wide enough to accommodate heavy traffic but it is unavoidable. There are cyclists and pedestrians during morning and evening hours on this road and it is highly unsafe for them due to the haphazard traffic and parking. The civic authorities and the police should take action.

It has been over a year since road opposite the Government School and near the shopping complex on the Panampilly Nagar Avenue was dug up for constructing a drain. What has happened to it? The end result is that the dirty water in the pit has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. It shakes the very belief in the will and capability of our administrative machinery.
