Ernakulam civil station to go for solar energy


The civil station will shortly sport a hybrid inverter system to generate electricity using solar panels. The proposed system is capable of not just generating solar energy but facilitate grid power and generation of power using diesel generator. The project aimed at generating 100 kilowatt power by installing solar panels on the roof of the civil station is estimated to cost Rs. 1.50 crore. District collector P.I. Sheikh Pareed said that tender for the project would be published shortly. Nirmithi Kendra is the nodal agency for the project. A pre-qualification meeting will be held on May 20 and the project will be tendered on May 22.
