Electronic punching for buses at mobility hub from August 11

Electronic punching system is to be implemented for KSRTC and private buses operated through Vytilla Mobility Hub.

Excise and Ports Minister K. Babu will inaugurate the punching done by radio frequency identification device (RFID) on August 11 at 5 p.m., managing director Mobility Hub M. Beena said.

The RFID technology is being adopted to ensure that buses operated through the hub stick to their schedules and also to make available schedule-related information to the public.

The system will be installed at five bus bays in the hub with the cooperation of the traffic police and bus operators.

Benny Behanan, MLA, will preside. Mayor Tony Chammany, district panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappillil, District Collector P.I. Sheikh Pareed, GCDA chairman N. Venugopal, City Police Commissioner M.R. Ajith Kumar, and Road Transport Officer T.J. Thomas will be present.
