DH Ground gets a make-over

The three-day celebratory programme organised by the district administration to mark the opening of the renovated Durbar Hall Ground will get under way on Friday.

A musical concert by K.J. Yesudas will be the highlight of the inaugural day. Entry to the public will be free on the first day.

Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K.V. Thomas will inaugurate the public meeting at 6 p.m. Tourism Minister A.P. Anilkumar will inaugurate the state-of-the-art open theatre.

Mayor Tony Chammany will inaugurate the cultural evening.

Dance performance by V.P. Dhananjayan will feature on the third day.

The ground has been renovated at a cost of Rs. 1.44 crore, including the contribution from the MLA fund of Hibi Eden. The newly set up open stage is the most modern and one of the best in the State.
