Delegates from marquee firms visit Startup Village

Young entrepreneurs working out of Startup Village in pursuit of their dreams could not have asked for more apt visitors.

Google India Managing Director Rajan Anandan, Facebook Country Head Kirthiga Reddy, LinkedIn Country Head Nishant Rao, Microsoft Consumer Channels Group Head G. Chakrapani, and IAMAI President Subho Ray were part of a delegation that interacted with the firms at Startup Village to learn about the start-up ecosystem there.

And much to the delight of the youngsters, they were not mere visitors but had come to explore avenues to support young entrepreneurs there. Fifteen start-ups won invitations from the delegation for an interaction.

“This is an amazing place and we really need to appreciate the effort that has gone into creating such an incubation facility. This model should be replicated in all other States. The talent, ambition and confidence of these youngsters are impressive,” a release issued here quoted Google’s Rajan Anandan as saying. He said Google currently provided services worth $25,000 per start-up as support and promised to extend the same to firms at Startup Village.

IAMAI President Subho Ray assured all possible assistance to young entrepreneurs.
