A Syndicate meeting of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) held here on Saturday ratified the decision to compulsorily retire S.K. Pyarilal, associate professor, Department of Ship Technology, on charges of declining to perform exam-related duties.

The Vice Chancellor had earlier recommended compulsory retirement for the faculty member after a one-member commission appointed by the varsity found that the charges against him were valid.

Mr. Pyarilal was suspended by the Syndicate earlier on charges of declining to perform exam-related duties.

The meeting decided to revoke the suspension of K. Roby, faculty member of the Department of Ship Technology.
