CSI consecration ceremony today

Rev. Thomas K. Oommen, Bishop-designate of the Madhya Kerala Diocese of Church of South India (CSI), will be consecrated on Saturday.

According to a diocesan communiqué the ceremonies would be held at Holy Trinity Cathedral at Chalukunnu at 9:30 a.m. CSI Moderator Bishop. S Vasantha Kumar will be the chief celebrant. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, head of the Mar Thoma Church, Bishop G. Devakadaksham,

deputy Moderator, CSI and Bishop K G Daniel, Commissary to the Moderator, will be the concelebrants.

Bishops B.S. Devamani, J. Prabhakara Rao, John S. Sadananda, K.P. Kuruvilla, K.J. Samuel, Sam Mathew, J.W. Gladstone, Michael John, George Isaac, Zacharias Mar Theophilus, Suffragon Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church, and the outgoing Madhya Kerala diocesan Head, Bishop Thomas Samuel, will participate in the ceremony. CSI Synod general secretary M.M. Philip treasurer Bennet Abraham will also be present on the occasion.

The consecration ceremony will be followed by a felicitation meet in the after noon. Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi will inaugurate the function. Bishops from sister churches, political leader and leading cultural personalities will participate.
