The Ernakulam Rural police on Thursday arrested the court employee who has been accused of sexually abusing a woman colleague inside the Aluva court complex on different occasions.

The arrested person has been identified as Martin, 46, a native of Kalady. The police had, three days ago, registered an FIR against the accused while a preliminary investigation later confirmed the allegations levelled against him.

As per the complaint, the victim was sexually exploited inside the court between April 15 and May 26 this year. A statement of the psychologist, who had treated the woman, said that the victim was not mentally strong enough to prevent such advances.

As part of the investigation, the Aluva Judicial First Class Magistrate court has recorded the woman’s statement.

Since the accused was an employee with the Aluva court, the case has been shifted to Angamaly for further proceedings.
