The Kochi Corporation has informed the Kerala Lok Ayuktha that legal proceedings had been initiated against the Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Corporation (APTDC) for some drawbacks in the construction of the Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plant.

In an affidavit, the corporation said that the bank guarantee of the APTDC had also been invoked and all further payments to the APTDC blocked.

The affidavit was filed in response to a complaint filed by M.L. George. The works was awarded to the APTDC after complying with all the procedures relating to tendering of the work.

The APTDC has already approached a civil court in Hyderabad challenging the action of the Kochi Corporation.

The complaint by Mr. George sought action against the corporation for corruption in the construction of the plant.
