Corporation earns record revenue

The Kochi Corporation earned record revenue in the last five months of the 2015-16 fiscal.

Deputy Mayor T.J. Vinod told the council that the civic body had earned Rs.69.23 crore in property tax alone during the period between November and March 31. The total revenue collection during the period stood at 92 per cent, which is a record.

Property tax collection stood at 78.42 per cent, profession tax 96 per cent and revenue through rent at 96.45 per cent. Revenue through advertisement tax for the same period was Rs.1.44 crore and entertainment tax Rs.10 crore, Mr. Vinod said.
