‘Meet aims to exploit State’s natural resources.’

A mass convention against Emerging Kerala 2012 will be held at High Court junction on Wednesday.

Jurist V.R. Krishna Iyer will inaugurate the convention at 10.a.m.

Though the government had signed 95 Memoranda of Understanding for business ventures to the tune of Rs.11,000 crore in a global investors’ meet held in 2003, only a few materialised.

The new meet aims to exploit the natural resources of the State in a big way, said Charles George, convener of the convention.

The government has ignored agriculture and traditional industries of the State even while attempting to bring in investors to the State.

The investors’ meet will not help the development destruction of the State, but will lead to its destruction, he said. K. Aravindakshan will preside over the inaugural session of the convention. M.M. Lawrence, writer Sara Joseph, M.K. Prasad, V.S. Vijayan, K.N. Harilal, V.S. Sunilkumar, MLA, and N. Sugathan will attend.

T.B. Mini and G. Gopinath attended the press conference.
