Kochi: T.L. Jose, block general secretary of the Congress in Thrikkakara, resigned on Friday, alleging that the party mechanism in the constituency had collapsed.

He accused certain vested interests of using the party for personal gains. Mr. Jose alleged that those who had worked against the party in the Assembly polls were given key posts. Senior leaders were not being invited for talks, he said.

Mr. Jose added that the Congress leadership supported money power and nepotism.
