The Kerala High Court has directed the Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to complete in six months the investigation into the allegation of misappropriation and misconduct levelled against K.R.Anil, Director, National Coir Research and Management Institute (NCRMI), Thiruvananthapuram, K. Madanan, former Director of the Directorate of Coir Development, and Rani George, Secretary, State Coir Department.

Justice B. Kemal Pasha issued the directive while disposing of a writ petition filed by Mr. Anil and others challenging the order of the Vigilance Special Judge directing to register a case against them. The vigilance court order came on a complaint filed by Sudhakaran Nair, alleging misappropriation and misconduct on the part of Mr. Anil and others. The allegation was that they had undertaken foreign tours under the guise of the promotion of coir products at the cost of the institute. There were allegations of misappropriation by them to the tune of Rs. 3 crore.
