Collector orders PWD officials to repair roads within 7 days

District Collector M.G. Rajamanickam has warned stern action against the officials concerned if they fail to repair the damaged PWD roads within seven days. The order came after the issue came up for a discussion in the District Development Committee (DDC) meeting held at the district headquarters here on Saturday.

The meeting also decided to deploy police personnel at bus stops in front of the schools to make sure that the bus employees did not prevent students from boarding the bus.

Further, officials of the Motor Vehicle Department would be assigned to carry out inspections in buses to ensure that elderly were not denied the seats reserved for them.

The meeting also decided to take up the issues of a parallel road at Nadakkavu junction and the free-left at Irumpanam junction during next sitting and invite representatives of the BPCL and IOC in this connection.
