Collector holds fifth taluk-level mass contact programme

90 petitions resolved during Pariharam at Kothamangalam

The mass contact programme, Pariharam 2017, conducted by District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla in Kothamangalam taluk resolved 90 petitions on Tuesday.

The remaining 26 of the 116 online petitions were forwarded to the departments concerned for further action. Eighty-five petitions were related to the Revenue Department.

Another 296 petitions were received at the seven special counters set up at Lions Club Auditorium where the programme was held. They were also forwarded to the consideration of the departments concerned.

Out of these petitions, 178 were related to the Revenue Department, 58 to panchayat, 13 to Scheduled Caste development, eight to banks, 12 to Forest Department, and 16 petitions to Scheduled Tribe development.

The District Collector forwarded petitions relating to land survey to the officials concerned with the instruction that reports be submitted immediately. Petitions related to transfer of registry will also be acted upon at the earliest.

Twenty-four persons applied for Aadhaar card at the Akshaya counter set up at the venue while another 32 linked their Aadhaar card with their PAN card. Seven petitions were received for assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The programme at Kothamangalam was the fifth in the series of mass contact programmes being organised by the Collector at the direction of the Chief Minister. Programmes had already been held at Paravur, Kunnathunadu, Muvattupuzha, and Aluva taluks. A special adalat was also held at the tribal belt of Kuttampuzha.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Safirulla said the mass contact programme enabled the public to raise their doubts about various projects. It would help ensure transparency and reinforce the duty and responsibility of officials.

Transfer or registry

Online transfer of registry had been implemented in 73 villages in the district and over 6,000 online transactions had already been completed. The Collector said online transfer of registry would be implemented in all villages by August.

Additional District Magistrate M.P. Jose presided. Revenue Divisional Officer S. Shajahan, Deputy Collectors Suresh Kumar, P.S. Charles, M. Jameela, and K.K. Sidharthan, Kothamangalam tahsildar R. Renu and tahsildar (Land Acquisition) K.V. Vijayan were also present.
