Cochin Haneefa interred with State honours

The mortal remains of actor Cochin Haneefa were interred with State honours at the Central Juma Masjid cemetery here around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Thousands of mourners paid homage to the departed actor, who had won the hearts of moviegoers with his versatility on screen.

Many of those who took part in the funeral broke down when the body was lowered into the crypt after the funeral prayers. Haneefa’s brothers and family members were present.

People thronged his residence near the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus station here from early morning for a last glimpse of the actor.
