Cochi university students visit vessels

Another batch of 28 students from the Naval Children School, in the meantime, got to visit survey ship INS Sutlej.

As many as 21 students from the Cochin University of Science and Technology and 28 cadets from the 7 Kerala naval unit of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) arrived on board naval hydrographic survey ship INS Jamuna operating under the Southern Naval Command on Saturday.

Another batch of 28 students from the Naval Children School, in the meantime, got to visit survey ship INS Sutlej.

The command, which operates a significant share of the Navy’s hydrographic survey assets, threw open the vessels to students on the occasion of World Hydrographic Day, with the aim of creating awareness on the significance of hydrographic surveys in terms of economic benefits accrued, diplomatic relations with Indian Ocean littoral states and creation of maritime infrastructure.
