The Kochi police will interrogate controversial Thrissur-based businessman Muhammad Nizam in connection with the arrest of an actor and four others for possession of cocaine from an apartment in Kadavanthra in Kochi last week.

Official sources said the Kochi Police would be moving the Chalakkudy judicial magistrate court on Wednesday requesting permission to allow interrogation of the businessman.

Deputy police commissioner R. Nishanthini, however, maintained that the probe has to go some more distance before interrogating the business man. “As of now, we are trying to find out the links between those arrested and the businessman and he will be interrogated only when it is necessary,” the official said.

Meanwhile, it has now emerged that the businessman visited the apartment in Kadavanthra just days before his arrest on Thursday last. “He rarely visits the flat that is registered in the name of another person, but he was spotted there a few days before his arrest in Thrissur,” officials added.
