Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala has said that he will meet the Prime Minister with the demand to entrust the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation with the work on the Kochi Metro Rail project. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here on Wednesday, Mr. Chennithala said the State government and the KPCC were of the opinion that DMRC and E. Sreedharan should be at the helm of affairs.

All arguments against giving the work to DMRC were baseless. The CPI(M) was engaged in a misinformation campaign, Mr. Chennithala said.

The Congress organisational revamp would be undertaken shortly. A decision in this regard would be taken in consultation with the party high command, Mr. Chennithala said.

A decision on the takeover of the Pariyaram Medical College would be taken after the United Democratic Front’s meeting on November 5.
