The Broadway Heritage Conservation project of the Kochi Corporation will take off shortly as the government has sanctioned the tender excess quoted by the contractor for implementing the work, said Excise Minister K. Babu.
Inaugurating the development seminar of the Kochi Corporation here on Tuesday, Mr. Babu said that the State government had supported the Kochi Corporation in taking forward its development projects that were hit due to various reasons.
Some of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission projects for Kochi got delayed as funds could not be raised for land acquisition.
The excess rates quoted by contractors had affected some others.
The tender excess for Broadway project was allowed and funds for land acquisition for Atlantic rail Overbridge was allotted by the government, he said.
