Bharat Petroleum Corporation, which launched its Bharatgas Mini five-kg LPG cylinders in the city on Thursday, has said the company offered an option to its customers to return the cylinder and regulator if the person was moving out of town or did not require it.

The refund would be 50 per cent of the purchase price of cylinder and pressure regulator excluding the cost of gas and taxes if it was returned within five years from the date of purchase. A customer has to preserve the proof of purchase. If the cylinder was returned after five years, the refund would be Rs. 100 flat, said a statement.

The five-kg cylinders were launched at a function at the Irumpanam pump of the company by District Collector M.G. Rajamanickam in the presence of George Paul, Executive Director (LPG) of BPCL. The cost of the first cylinder in Kochi is Rs. 2,105.48 (including the Suraksha tube). The refills will cost Rs. 459.25 in July. The price is likely to vary from month to month.
