In what appears to be a continuing battle between two factions of goons in the city, two people, riding a motor bike, created a scare by throwing explosives at a residential complex on Deshabhimani Road in Kaloor.

The motor bike riders threw explosives at the Revathi Court Apartments around 7.30 p.m. on Saturday.

One of the pieces that were thrown fell into the compound of the residential complex while the other fell on a car that was parked in the compound. The car was damaged in the explosion.

The police suspect that the incident on Saturday was related to the violent confrontation between two goonda groups in the city, which had attacked each other on the premises of the Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday. No one was injured in the incident.

A team of police officials has been pressed into service. A dog squad and forensic experts are also part of the investigations. Those residing in the apartment complex are being questioned about the incident.
