The body of a man was found in a car near the Laha Junction at Punnamoodu near Mavelikara this afternoon.
According to the Mavelikara police, preliminary investigations hinted that the body was of a native of Pathanamthitta. The body was found in a Maruti 800 car, registered in Pathanamthitta and belonging to one
Vasukutty of Elanthoor, who was reported missing by his family in the Elanthoor Police Station, Pathanamthitta, a couple of days back.
The parked car was noticed on the road from Thursday evening by a few locals. On Friday, a few locals got suspicious and called in the police. On opening the car, they found the body.
Senior police officials, including the Superintendents of Police of both Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts, have rushed to the spot. Further investigation is on, police said.
