Hundreds of activists of the People’s Collective against Emerging Kerala, went in a procession towards the venue of the event, but were stopped at Valanjambalam

Several activist groups and youth wings of some political parties took out marches in Kochi on Wednesday in protest against the Emerging Kerala event.

Hundreds of activists of the People’s Collective against Emerging Kerala, which comprises a dozen activist groups, went in a procession towards the venue of the event, but were stopped at Valanjambalam. For a few minutes they staged a dharna sitting on the road. C.R. Neelakantan and Charles George, who led the march, alleged that the Emerging Kerala projects would undo all the benefits of the Kerala development model.

The groups included the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad, CPI(ML) Red Flag, Plachimada Samara Samiti, Aranmula Airport Samara Samiti, and High-Speed Rail Corridor Samara Samiti.

Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India who took out a march against Emerging Kerala were not allowed by the police to go towards the venue.
