The British Council is organising an informal meeting of U.K. alumni, residing in and around Kochi, with Paul Sellers, British Council's Director for South India, here on June 14. “British Council aims to keep in touch with all UK alumni. All those who provide their contact details on or before Thursday will be separately invited for the meeting. The venue and timings of the meeting will be intimated individually,” said Prof. Jacob Chacko, president of the Kochi chapter of the Association of British Scholars (ABS). All those who have undergone any form of academic pursuit in the UK, from the year 2000 onwards, have to provide their contact details at:abskochi@gmail.com.
The Association of British Scholars is a forum established for the networking of UK alumni throughout India by the British Council. The ABS has 25 chapters across the country. “The programmes and activities of the ABS, which works closely with the British Council, are aimed at development of society through socially relevant educational and cultural programmes for different target audiences from time to time. Through their activities and programmes, the ABS (www.britishcouncil.org/india-abs-all-india) contributes towards the larger India-UK relationship,” he said.
