Aroor bridge: court issues notice to NHAI in Kochi

A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the NHAI to respond to a public interest writ petition seeking a directive to repair the damaged surface of the Kumbalam-Aroor bridge.

The Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice A.M. Shaffieque issued the directive on the petition filed by the Kumbalam Passengers’ Association.

According to the association, the bridge surface had a large number of potholes.

The NHAI had not taken any steps to repair the 500-metre stretch.
