The Army has cautioned job aspirants against approaching touts for getting enlisted into the force. Brigadier M.M. Gupta, Deputy Director General (States) of Recruiting Zone, Bangalore, who is in town in connection with the ongoing recruitment rally at the Maharaja's College Ground for selection of candidates into various soldier categories, on Wednesday said that people should be weary of falling for the touts' false promises.
“The recruitment is open and transparent where individual merit and physical standard stipulations alone matter,” he said.
Brigadier Gupta added that to ensure fairness and transparency, a team of personnel from the Army Recruiting office (ARO), Mangalore, besides independent officers and personnel from various formations and units, had been detailed to screen candidates at the rally.
Colonel B.K. Bhardwaj, Director of the ARO Thiruvananthapuram, which is conducting the rally, thanked the district administration and the Southern Naval Command for extending ‘phenomenal support' for the conduct of the rally.
The recruitment will be on till January 23.
