‘Amma’ to organise stage shows to help needy artists in filmdom

Malayalam movie industry will pay tribute to the 100 years of Indian Cinema, thanks to Mazhavillazhakil Amma , a stage show to be organised by Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) in Sharjah on April 5 and Port Trust stadium here on April 7.

The four-and-a-half show will feature 70 actors from Mollywood. T. K. Rajeevkumar, noted filmmaker who is directing the show, said on Monday the show will incorporate the advantages of multi-media in its presentation.

“In a way, it will be the first programme from the part of the film industry that will pay tributes to the rich legacy of Indian cinema. We have done a lot of research to present the facts accurately,” he said.

Rajeevkumar said director Priyadarshan has agreed to join the rehearsal camp progressing in the city on March 28. “ Priyan will be handling the comedy skits,” he said.

Senior actor Innocent, president of AMMA, said the returns from the shows will be utilised to help the needy artistes in Malayalam film industry.
