Aluva educational sub-district won the overall championship at the Ernakulam revenue district school arts festival that concluded at Muvattupuzha on Saturday.

North Paravur emerged the runner-up, with 748 points. Ernakulam, which gave a tough fight to North Paravur for the second place, ended up in the third position with 747 points.

M. M. Mani, Minister for Electricity, handed over the prizes to the winners.

Govt HSS, Muvattupuzha, was adjudged the best performing school in the higher secondary category while St. Augustine’s Girls HSS, was declared the best in the high school category.

In the higher secondary category, North Paravur educational sub-district topped the point tally with 348 points. Aluva and Ernakulam were in the second and third places with 346 and 342 points respectively.

Aluva topped the high school section with 308 points followed by Ernakulam and North Paravur at 278 and 274 points respectively.

In the upper primary category, Kothamangalam and Perumbavoor shared the top position after it won 146 points each. Ernakulam and North Paravur were in the second and third places with 127 and 126 points respectively. Aluva topped the point tally in the high school section in the Sanskrit fest with 83 points. Ernakulam was in the second place with 79 points, followed by Angamaly and Perumbavoor tied up at 76 points each. In the upper primary section of Sanskrit fest, Aluva topped with 91 points. Perumbavoor and North Paravur were in the second and third places, with 83 and 81 points respectively.

Perumbavoor topped the point tally in the high school category of Arabic fest. North Paravur was in the second place with 77 points followed by Aluva with 70. Perumbavoor and North Paravur were tied up at 64 points each for the top place in the upper primary category in the Arabic fest. Kothamangalam was in the second place with 58 points followed by Vypin with 57.
