Actors Dileep and Manju Warrier filed a joint petition for divorce here before the Ernakulam Family Court on Thursday.

The actors arrived at the court with their counsels around 9 a.m. and met the judge together for about half an hour.

They reportedly discussed the terms of their separation and arrangements for care of their child.

They also requested the court to keep the details of the divorce private.

Their petition is expected to be considered by the court in January next year.

Mr. Dileep had filed a petition before the court earlier seeking a divorce from Ms. Warrier. The court had summoned the two for a hearing in the matter on Wednesday. They did not turn up at the court on Wednesday, but their counsels told the court about their intent to file a joint petition.

Sources said that they decided to file a joint petition after discussions with mediators. Mr. Dileep is now expected to withdraw his earlier petition.
