The make-up man of actor Suresh Gopi succumbed to injuries he sustained in an accident at a private hospital in the city on Thursday.

Thomas B.P., 66, of Tirunagar, Chennai, had arrived in the city to work with the actor for a function. He was crossing the road at Kundannoor junction last Saturday when he was hit by a motorcycle around 10 p.m. “We were crossing the road when the lights had turned green for pedestrians. We had almost crossed the road when the speeding Pulsar hit him,” said Sinoj, who was present at the time of the accident.

He was immediately taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning. Sources said he had multiple fractures and suffered internal bleeding in his stomach. Mr. Gopi visited Thomas at the hospital.

Police are yet to find the biker involved in the accident. “Police told us that the accident had not appeared on the CCTV cameras. But they have visuals of us taking Thomas to the hospital,” Sinoj said.

Thomas’s body was taken to his Chennai residence on Thursday evening, where his last rites will be perfomed.
