A 39-year-old woman was raped at gun point by two persons at Maradu the other day.
The incident came to light after the victim lodged a police complaint on Monday. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under IPC Sections 376, 394, 34, and the Arms Act, and a probe is on to trace the accused.
The police refused to divulge further details on the complaint, maintaining that such a move at this stage could affect the probe.
Meanwhile, sources said the woman, wife of a small-time vendor, was raped allegedly by two persons when her husband was not at home. According to the complaint, the duo barged into the house, bound her hands from behind and raped her.
The woman said when she tried to raise an alarm, the accused inserted the barrel of a gun into her mouth and threatened to shoot her.
The police are awaiting medical report.
