KOCHI: A two-storey heritage house in Fort Kochi was damaged in a fire on Wednesday. The house of Neetha Bai on Janardhan Devaswom Road, Amravathi, went up in flames causing damage worth several lakhs of rupees.

Three units of the fire force battled for one-and-a-half hours to douse the fire, which was suspected to have spread from an oil lamp.

Four people were living on rent in the house. The fire started in the unit occupied by one Ashokan on the upper floor. No one was inside the house at the time of the mishap.
