Police action follows SPCA alert

Officials of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Kochi, arrested three persons while attempting to trade a sand boa, a snake variety included in the Schedule 4 of the Wildlife Protection Act. The arrested were identified as Ramesh and Anilkumar of Kollam and Muhammad Ismail of Kambam, Tamil Nadu.

It was following an information received by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals that the Bureau sprang into action. SPCA inspector T.M. Sajith and Bureau inspector A. Madhivanan led the team of officials.
