Former Ernakulam District Collector K.R. Viswambharan and two priests, Fr. V. Thomas and Fr. A.V. Shaji, were among the 263 law graduates who were enrolled as lawyers on Sunday.
Mr. Viswambharan had served as the District Collector from 1999 to 2001.
Mr. Viswambharan had worked as the Revenue Divisional Officer of Fort Kochi and Muvattupuzha.
He had also served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Kerala Agricultural University.
Ernakulam district panchayat member Yesudas Parapally; KPCC executive committee member Ibrahimkuty Kallar; National Students Union secretary S. Sarath and Arun Raghavan, son of M. K. Raghavan, MP, too enrolled as lawyers.
In his address, Justice A.M. Shaffique of the High Court of Kerala, said that the lawyers should be role models for other members of society. The lawyers should uphold the vales of honesty and integrity in profession and person, he said. K.P. Dhandapani, Advocate General, distributed the certificates to the lawyers. C. Sreedharan Nair, chairman of the Bar Council of Kerala, presided.
