23 road corridors to get a makeover

With 23 road corridors in the city and suburbs being strengthened and improved as part of traffic diversion for Kochi metro, agencies that have scheduled road cutting work for cable and pipeline work have been asked to complete their works this month.

The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) plans to resurface and improve these roads using Bituminous Macadam and Bituminous Concrete (BMBC) as part of a Rs 31-crore makeover. The roads will be upgraded by March.

Edappally Marotichodu-Sahakarana Sangam Road; Mamangalam-Pottakuzhi Road; Bund Road connecting Thykoodam on NH 47 Bypass with Panampilly Nagar Avenue Road (through Amalabhavan Road and Yuvajanasamajam Road); Thykoodam Under Pass Road to SA Road (Vyttila-Janatha Road); AKG Road, Thykoodam Church Road and link roads, Jawahar Road and Masjid Road; Fathima Matha Church Road (Elamkulam Jn. to Subash Chandra Bose Road); Manapattiparmbu Road, ACS Temple Road; Mathai Manjooran Road, Old railway station road, Providence Road; Karakkat Cross road, Carrier Station road, Kalathiparambu Road, AM Thomas Road, Sadanam Road; Edappally Raghavan Pillai Road; Perandoor (LFC) Road-from Perandoor to Pottakuzhi; Edappally BTS  Road; Palarivattom PJ Antony Road; Market Road (opposite Edappally Church); Changapuzha Park by road; Edappally-Ponekkara-Ponnavazhi Road; Paradise Road (SA Road to Subhash Bose Road); Giri Nagar Crossroad (GCDA Junction to Manorama Junction); K.P. Vallon Road (Kadvanthara Junction to St. Joseph Church Junction); Chittoor Road (Rajaji Road Junction  to Valanjambalam); internal roads leading to Mullaserry Canal Road (between Chittoor Road and TD Road); Aluva-Varapuzha (SWTS Road) (from Companypady in NH 47 to Edamoolla palam) and Vaduthala Gate-Vaduthala Palam Road.
