House divided: Agitated supporters of YSRCP leader B. Gurunath Reddy at the party meeting in Anantapur on Monday.

YSR Congress district in-charge Peddireddy Mithun Reddy was in for a surprise on Monday when long-time loyalists of YSR family -- B. Narayana Reddy brothers -- and their supporters disrupted the district-level meeting of the party.

As soon as the meeting commenced in the presence of Mr. Mithun Reddy, Visveswar Reddy, the lone legislator from the district, and other senior leaders including former MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy, followers of the BNR family, particularly B. Gurunath Reddy, former legislator of the YSRCP from Anantapur, created a scene disrupting the meeting throwing chairs and raising slogans in favour of Mr. Gurunath Reddy.

Followers of the BNR family alleged the the party had been neglecting Mr. Gurunath Reddy and his family who had been the loyalists of Y.S. Rajasekahar Reddy and subsequently Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Amid ruckus, Mr. Mithun Reddy and other leaders were escorted out by their security men.
