A youngster was murdered allegedly by his three friends on the railway tracks at Ammuguda near Alwal on Monday.

The victim identified as Sai Kiran (19) of Sainagar in Venkatapuram used to threaten his friends - Ugender, Vamshi and Raju stating that he would inform the police about their alleged involvement in theft of scrap material. Initially, the trio tried to buy Kiran’s silence by giving him a share of booty to prevent him from squealing to the police but he continued to blackmail them. Unable to bear his harassment, the trio decided to eliminate Kiran.

According to the plan, the three invited him for a liquor party on the railway tracks at Ammuguda. While consuming liquor, the trio picked up an argument with him over the issue. They later overpowered him and killed him by smashing his head with a boulder and dumped the body in the nearby bushes.

Passers-by noticed the body and alerted the police who rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. On coming to know about the incident, Kiran’s relatives attacked Ugender’s godown near Ammuguda and even torched it. Police immediately swung into action and dispersed the irate relatives.
