Writ plea wants wife of Maoist leader produced

A Habeas corpus petition seeking the producing of Bharathi, the wife of Maoist leader Dubashi Shanker, before the court was filed in the Hyderabad High Court. Petitioner Varavara Rao, the revolutionary writer, alleged that the Special Intelligence Branch police had illegally picked up Bharathi on the evening of January 20, seeking information about the whereabouts of her husband.

Whereabouts unknown

The whereabouts of the detenue, a native of Chatla Narsampally village of Doulatabad mandal in Medak district, are not known. The case is likely to come up on Thursday.
