World Telugu meet in Hyderabad

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to organise World Telugu Conference from June 2 to 10 in Hyderabad. The World Telugu Conference is going to be organised to coincidence with the State’s formation day celebrations.

The proposed conference and celebrations would be organised under the supervision of the newly formed Telangana Sahitya Academy.

The Chief Minister has decided to constitute Telangana Lalitha Kala Academy, Sangeet Nataka Academy and Folk Arts Academy also. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said that best Telugu dialect, best poetry is available in Telangana and the academies should become platforms to spread the literary flavour of Telangana to the world.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the conduct of the World Telugu Conference on Tuesday in Pragati Bhavan. Government Advisor K.V Ramanachary, State Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman Ayachitam Sridhar, Director Culture Mamidi Harikrishna, Official Language Commission Chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, noted literary personalities Nandini Sidhareddy, Sri Vajuula Sivakumar, CPRO to CM Jwala Narasimha Rao Vanam, CM OSD Desapathy Srinivas and others participated.

Mr. Rao instructed that the proposed World Telugu Conference and its programmes should be held in such a manner that they should be heard and talked world over and become a milestone in the history. On the occasion hoardings should be placed in Hyderabad depicting the prominence and greatness of the Telangana Literary grandeur. The Chief Minister wanted well known and prominent literary personalities, followers of the Telugu language living within the country and abroad to be invited for the conference. As part of the Conference, the Chief Minister wanted poets gatherings (Kavi Sammelanas), Avadhanams, conferences on various genres of literature should be organised. He also wanted unpublished works of the Telangana poets should also be published for the World Telugu Conference.
